As an ipl fan, everybody knows that Hardik Pandya is always bought by Mumbai Indians. This time a question might be in your mind on why was he not retained.
Well, the reason is that all the teams in ipl 2022 are only allowed to retain four cricketers. Others have to be new players. So Mumbai Indians decided to keep their captain Rohit Sharma, this was guaranteed as Rohit Sharma is one of the best players in the cricket world.
The second one is The strike bowler Jasprit Bumrah, which was also expected as Bumrah is one of the best bowlers and Mumbai Indians cannot lose him. The third one is Kieron Pollard, he is the first and last foreigner retained by Mumbai Indians.
He is a very good cricketer and most importantly an all-rounder. The last one is Suryakumar Yadav, he is a middle-order batsman and plays well.
Hardik Pandya does not play better than all these four players so he was not retained by Mumbai Indians. This was beneficial for him as he would not be given more than 8-10 crores if he was bought by Mumbai Indians.
His new team is Gujarat Titans the new franchise team of Gujarat, he was bought for 15 crores which is a very good amount for him when compared to 8-10 crores.
He was also made the captain of the new Gujarat team. This is very good for him as in his previous team that is Mumbai Indians, he would just be a player without much importance.
This is very good for his career as now he is captain of an ipl team.
If he can make Gujarat win ipl 2022 then Hardik Pandya's importance would be much much more and Mumbai Indians would regret not retaining him. Chances for this to happen are very less but anything can happen in a battle.
